Your Hands Can Heal You, or Pranic Energy

I’ve been reading an interesting book about Pranic Energy. While the author of “Your Hands Can Heal You”, Stephen Co, differentiates this healing system from Reiki, the 2 systems have much in common. You can check out this book ( http://masterstephenco.com/your-hands-can-heal-you ) for yourself if you like. Inside he has alot of tips for generating and building up your chi, including a modified version of the 5 Tibetans, and a very interesting take on a Tonglen version which he calls a meditation on twin hearts. But I want to focus today on an exercise Co sites for developing sensitivity. You can find instructions on page 23- 25 of his book co-authored with Eric B. Robins, M.D., and with John Merryman- “Your Hands Can Heal You, Pranic Healing Energy Remedies to Boost Vitality and Speedy Recovery from Common Health Problems”   (©2002)  What follows is a synopsis of his exercise. Start with your tongue just behind the hard palatte and take a four deep pranic breaths through the nose. Extend your arms out from your shoulders in front of you. Roll your wrists 10x clockwise, and then 10x counterclockwise. Open and close your hands vigorously 10x. Now bring your arms down to the sides of your body and bring your fists straight up. They should be by your arm pits, back of the hands facing outward. Drop those fists! and let the fingers flick open. It’s a fast movement. But don’t try too hard. Just let go and let it happen naturally. Do that 10x. Now hold your hands out in front of you with your palms about 3 inches apart and facing each other.  Spread your fingers. Press the thumb of your right hand into the center of your left palm. Hold for 3 seconds. Repeat on the opposite side. Now keep your hands facing each other about 3 inches apart. They should be in front of your solar plexus. Relax and focus gently on the energy of your palms. Do this for about 30 seconds. Now pull your hands apart about 12 inches and bring them back to about 3 inches separation. Gently. Feel the energy build up between your palms. Like a ball. Feel it’s presence. Perhaps your palms are getting itchy, or buzzing, or feeling warm?  Congratulations! You’ve been building pranic energy.  Bring that ball to you heart, your tanden, or any where you would like to deliver extra energy.
